Fixin Halsey's Sporty

Halsey (hope I got the spelling right) came by on Sunday afternoon to get some repair work done on her Sporty. Jesse, Mark and Dave Silva (thanks Dave) spent most of the afternoon and evening fixing lights, fork seals and muffler. She trekked home in the cold to SF early Sunday night ... Hope you made it home ok and it was not too bad. How's the fix? Here's a couple of shots - all I took before we split to dinner.

Jesse at the helm. He also put some muffler time in when he got the forks back full of oil.
You can see more of what Jesse is doing at his blog . Hoping to get some new shop photos soon. Keep checking in and thanks to the folks who subscribed to this blog. Your support means a lot.

Builder of the Year 2011

Obsolete Iron hereby bestows "Builder of the Year 2011" to Jesse Jordan. Jesse can be found at Chopped Stock and Just Plain Fun blog. He built this Shovelhead for the Born Free 3 event just after completing the Pan below. Congratulations, Jess. We're not talking billet shit here, but a good old fashioned just like the real shit build it in my garage kind of build. Kind of a hammer and chisel build, if ya know what I mean...

Many thanks Jess for letting me take so many photos of your cool stuff. I made one for you too!

And so 2011 comes to an end. Kick ass year... wonder how we're gunna top this one?

2011 What a Year

January: All my stuff is scenic and without bikes so I am borrowing from my kid, Jesse over at Chopped Stock blog. I have backed up his pics on my external hard drive in case... Anyway, taking poetic license... here's some from January 2011.

These shots in Jesse's garage/shop are of his build for the BF3 Shovelhead. This bike for some strange reason was completely invisible in all photo accounts of the event. It turned out clean and very nice and I am still surprised at the lack of photos of the finished product. Of course, he parked his 64 Pan next to it wherever we went, so most interest went in that direction. Whatever, I rode it to the event from the camp spot and back and it is a strong running bike. Thanks, Jess for letting me ride your bike and for letting me abscond with your photos.
