Fixin Halsey's Sporty

Halsey (hope I got the spelling right) came by on Sunday afternoon to get some repair work done on her Sporty. Jesse, Mark and Dave Silva (thanks Dave) spent most of the afternoon and evening fixing lights, fork seals and muffler. She trekked home in the cold to SF early Sunday night ... Hope you made it home ok and it was not too bad. How's the fix? Here's a couple of shots - all I took before we split to dinner.

Jesse at the helm. He also put some muffler time in when he got the forks back full of oil.
You can see more of what Jesse is doing at his blog . Hoping to get some new shop photos soon. Keep checking in and thanks to the folks who subscribed to this blog. Your support means a lot.

Unfinished Projects 2012 ~ SF Moto and Bay Area Vintage Riders dot com

What I think I like about the way I set up this blog is that I don't have to say anything. Just post some pictures. I know it's been awhile, but hey, it's been a while and I've been kinda busy. So to make up for it, here's all I got last night at the SF Moto's Unfinished Projects show. Now, I did take a pic of a cool ass '29 JD, but I had to get blockers to hold me a spot on the floor just for that. It was packed inside that place! I got a shot of a killer sculpture in the door way on the way out but mostly I got stuff from outside.... well hell.... I will stop tellin ya and just post it. Later.

Look What I Just Picked Up

Hell Yeah. I'm all over this project!

Ok, my ObIron friends and visitors. I have been watching as everyone (meaning the guys) around me keeps putting work into stuff they can ride to events like Born Free and our local gigs. I can't do the stripped down chopper thing because, well, I'm a girl (whoa, really? surprise, surprise, surprise) and I have "stuff" to carry. No, we're not talking a purse and lipstick or spare undies... we're talking, like, tripod, camera, lenses and gear to make beautiful pictures of your rusty old shit obsolete iron of beauty. I am not riding my bagger to these events because I don't need the heartache from ya'all and the chase truck is getting kind of old hat.
How fuck'n cool is this?
Well, I am hoping that is going to change as of today. I just picked up a servicar frame and tranny. I have a motor already and most some of the stuff to make it all work. Here's the beginning of what I know will be lots of work, money and elbow grease hope will be a long and beautiful friendship....
eBay and Craig's List ...here I come! I really hope to break some nails, bust some knuckles, get grease on my face and be as involved as I can in this build, so suck it up, boys. Send me your thoughts, I can delete them if I don't like what I read, send me your hook-ups for parts I may need - and keep watching to see how I do.

Comes complete with a Praying Mantis Egg Sack in the wheels between the spokes.

I have not been this excited to build a bike since we built my old coffin tank
Triumph chopper back in the 70's!
